    Greetings,

If it is not too late, please check out the 2011 Stomp Records release of “Nothin But Time” by Rude City Riot. If you will give me an email address I can send a zipped folder with mp3s from the album. The LP has received nothing but praise since it’s June release. Produced by “whizz kid producer” Alex Condor Aligizakis this is Ska record that rocks, has traditional influences but sounds very modern at the same time. The songwriting is very strong. Lead singer and band leader Dustin Lionhart has been writing Ska songs since he was 14. Scott Atkins, one of the bands guitarists has been in bands with Dusty since high school.
Strong vocals, insidious hooks and killer musicianship – it’s all there. It may be said of RCR that this Ska band has stronger solo power and a more exciting stage show than any new Ska band in the last decade.
    regards,
Dan Cowan, Mgr of Rude City Riot.

In a world that moves so fast the lady of ska pauline black for me has made time stand still for me, still goin strong after all these years pauline and the selecter have been there done it and wore the t- shirt for me that doesnt mean complacency? Its means passion and commitment for the love of music and teachin the younger generation how its done with perfection’ sure its only my opinion but never mind how many votes they get i,d give Pauline a bloody knighthood for her continued effort:)

Not many people outside of the Spanish speaking part of Latin America know of Desorden Publico. I invite all those who frequent this site to check them out. They are not a new fad, it’s a band that is strongly rooted in some of the classic ska sounds and that is not shy to show everyone they have the Caribbean running through the veins of their music and it has been just that, a strong, positive, varied sound for the last 20. Check them out in youtube if you may.

Hello Joe, first of all, thanks for doing this great job!..It is true that 2011 was a year of many good SKA albums , and that´s NOT easy to choose just one as our favourite..Fortunately, this is not a competition where the winner will take it all, this is just a game where we can discover many bands and many great albums..So I would like to say you Thanks for giving us this chance, and ..By the way, here I´m sending a brief list of Another very important albums that aren´t on yours:

-NY SKA JAZZ ENSEMBLE “Double Edge”
-Tokyo SKa Paradise Orchestra “Sunny Side of the Street”(EP)
-Tokyo Ska Paradise Ochestra “Heroes” (EP)
    -Alaska “Will that be enough”
    -Maroon Town “Urban Myths”
-Bad Manners “You are just too good to be true”-the covers album-
-Easy Star All Stars “A first light”
-Os Paralamas do Sucesso “Brasil Afora multishow ao vivo”
    -Alborosie ” 2 Times revolution”
    -Carlos Dingo “Ska is Dangerous”
    -El Gran Miércoles “Surf Steady”
-Little Tempo (Japan) “Taiyou no Hanayome”
    -Fishbone “Crazy Glue”

I hope some of them will have the chance to obtain some votes..all those discs are very good!

Too Many Crooks – Here Today Gone Tomorrow

These Guys dare to be different and give ska a kick up the ass to give it a more modern sound. They dont sound like all the other ska bands that seem to be stuck in limbo with the same predictable sound.

The album itself really is the dogs nadgers and their strongest to date.
Slow numbers upbeat numbers you name it this album has it. The track titanic is pure brilliance.

So do yourself a favour and download it or buy it. You wont be disappointed.

    Theresa loves it!

in the name of all DESORDEN PÚBLICO members, I would like to send one million THANKS to all the real friends who voted for our album “Los Contrarios”..And of course, Vielen, Vielen Danke für JOE for giving us the chance to participate here.
We are really proud for such a huge number of votes and want to say that as someone mentioned in one message, “EVERY SKA or REGGAE Band that was abble to released their album, is a winner, there are a LOT of great bands with wonderful albums on this list. I know every member of DESORDEN has his own Top ten with bands like Selecter, Holly Cook, NY Ska Jazz Ensemble, Moon Invaders, Alpheus, Planet Smashers, Little Roy, Prince Fatty, Kevin Batchelor, Carlos Dingo , the Slackers, etc etc…We are real fans of all of them, we play their music on our own Radio Show, every saturday´s afternoon (Radio Pirata on: http://www.ateneofm.com)..We even trade cd´s with some record labels of the world, in order to spread the word of the International SKA and Reggae, for the Venezuelan audiences…All this is Beacuse WE LOVE SKA MUSIC!!! …Much Respect for all the people on this list!.. that´s the main reason because we are really PROUD and HAPPY for being here, among soooo many great bands.
    Keep on Skanking!
    Caplís (Jose Chacín)
